12.03.02 Optical engineering

This area of training will be of interest to students willing to be involved in research, development and application of instruments and systems based on the use of optical waves, opto-technology hardware components, or in matters of controlling optical and electrooptic elements, devices and systems. The knowledge and skills obtained are applicable to a wide range of development areas, from microscopes and interference-based measurement systems to systems operating in outer space.

Optical Technologies
The program is for the training of specialists in computer support for modern precision technologies in optics, optoelectronics and precision instrument manufacture, capable of developing and operating optical, laser and fiber-optic elements, instruments, systems and complexes at science-based enterprises and organizations in the electronics and instrument-making industry, as well as the aerospace and military-industrial complexes.
Instruction is conducted in modern laboratories, either belonging to the department or to its partner enterprises, where alumni can be employed upon completion.
