Chemical technology and polymer processing
In conformity with the program, qualified personnel is trained, specifically those who have mastered up-to-date technologies for the synthesis and processing of polymers for high-tech industries. The training is based on modern achievements of science and technology in chemistry, technology for processing polymer materials, and manufacturing products based on them.

The professional activity of graduates includes developing methods and means to obtain substances and materials, as well as the development of methods to receive products for various purposes on their basis; conducting chemical and physical analysis of substances and materials; carrying out research and monitoring properties of substances, materials and products.

Areas of research are associated with the development of unconventional technologies for the production of monomers and polymers for agriculture, mechanical engineering, defense industry, medicine and space.

Particular attention in training Bachelor’s degree holders is paid to the study of the interconnection between the structure, composition and properties of polymers. Practical classes are held in educational laboratories with modern equipment.

Chemical technology of materials based on rare elements
During the training process, students receive theoretical knowledge and practical skills in technology for obtaining multifunctional materials based on rare, scattered, rare earth and platinum metals. Graduates are engaged in the development of modern chemical technologies, the creation of materials based on rare elements, the study of their physical and chemical properties, they acquire the necessary skills and abilities in synthesis, research and development of technological schemes to receive functional materials based on rare metals.

The focus of the program is reflected in the State Program of the Russian Federation Development of industry and increasing its competitiveness, subprogram No. 4 Development of production of traditional and new materials.

The Graduating Department is the only one in the country that trains specialists in the field of chemistry and technology of platinum metals and materials based on them. Students of the program undertake internship in modern university laboratories based on National Instruments solutions. The program is adapted to the needs of specific employers.

Chemical technology of inorganic substances
In the course of training, students master chemical technology of inorganic substances and receive theoretical and practical training for researchers and technologists who have the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary in the search, selection, study and development of methods and technologies for the extraction of rare, trace and platinum metals from primary and secondary raw materials sources, as well as from technogenic raw materials.

Apart from that, students get to know the technology of obtaining rare metals and their compounds of high purity.

The program has no analogues in Russia and is aimed at training personnel in the field of chemical technology of inorganic substances used to create modern functional and intelligent nanomaterials. The program is adapted to the needs of specific employers.

Chemical technology of organic substances
The training program provides for the study of the technology of products of basic organic synthesis conducted with the use physical, physical-chemical and chemical processes; creation of new catalytic systems and processes focused on different types of raw materials; methods for separating multicomponent mixtures resulting from the synthesis of organic products; ensuring the quality of products that meet the requirements of the state standard (GOST) through the use of resource and energy-saving separation technologies.
Students receive theoretical knowledge and practical skills studying the fundamentals of physical and chemical reactions and mass transfer processes, complex reaction and rectification processes, mathematical modeling of properties of mixtures and processes, and the synthesis of energy-saving science-intensive technologies.

Students study having an opportunity to use licensed software packages for physical-chemical and technological calculations; they also have access to databases of physical and chemical properties. Mathematical modeling of processes and objects is performed on the basis of standard computer-aided design packages and software packages for scientific research.

The training program is focused on those who are interested in methods and ways of obtaining biologically active substances using chemical and biochemical processes, production of pharmaceuticals based on them, technological support and participation in works on installation, commissioning, maintenance, diagnostics, repair and operation of industrial production of fine organic synthesis products, biologically active compounds of synthetic and natural origin, and medicines.

An important feature of the program is close integration of the students’ educational and research activities carried out at the graduating department with the work of the leading research institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The program of training covers innovative technologies for the synthesis and modification of functional polymer and hybrid materials, methods of their physical and chemical analysis, based on modern scientific achievements. Functional polymers are used in high-tech industries: medicine, electronics, energy, defense industry, etc., as well as in the production of a wide range of consumer goods.
