Student of the RTU MIREA Institute of International Education took part in the international student conference MSU UN Model
Andreas A. Koklet, a student of the Institute of International Education at RTU MIREA from the Democratic Republic of Congo, took part in the international student conference MSU UN Model (MSUMUN-2020), which was held between March 2 and 6 in the main building of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. Delegates from 20 countries worked in 12 committees and had an opportunity to communicate in all official UN languages (English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Arabic and French).
High-ranking guests addressed the delegates with the words of welcome: V.A. Sadovnichy, Rector of the Moscow State University, Academician of the RAS; E.V. Mitrofanova, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo; P.V. Ilyichev, Director of the Department of International Organizations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; V.S. Pavinsky, Deputy Director of the UN Information Center in Moscow, and others.
Andreas participated in the OIT (Organization International du Travail) committee, where for a week, the participants imitated the work of United Nations bodies. Andreas spoke about the reason why he decided to participate in the conference: “I am open to new cultures, I like to read and broaden my mind, and I am outraged by the growing inequality in the 21st century. I want peace and justice, not only regarding the migrants labor force, but also in many other issues. MSUMUN –2020 is a good opportunity to meet new people, study their culture and views on various world issues."
