The plan for the 2020 Russian-German youth events and activities was discussed at a meeting in Moscow

From February 5 to 7, a working meeting of the Russian Coordination Bureau for Youth Exchanges with the Federal Republic of Germany and the Foundation for German-Russian Youth Exchange was held in Moscow. The participants in the meeting discussed plans for joint work to develop youth cooperation between Russia and Germany in 2020.
The meeting focused on the discussion of the action plan of the two coordination bureaus to develop a long-term strategy for Russian-German youth cooperation. The decision to work out a development strategy was taken at the XV meeting of the Russian-German Council in the field of youth cooperation, held last November in Heidelberg
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the concept of the Russian-German partnership conference of youth exchanges organizers Youth Should Remember to be held in May 2020 in Berlin in connection with the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. During the event, the participants will draft proposals for the Russian-German youth cooperation development strategy and get familiarized with the specifics of youth exchange projects aimed to preserve historical memory.
The conference will bring together 60 people representing organizers of youth, school and professional youth exchanges from Russia and Germany. Competition to participate in the conference is to start in March.
Apart from that, the meeting participants discussed the draft programs of the Forum of young representatives of local self-government bodies of the Russian and German partner cities (June, Rostov-on-Don), the 3rd Russian-German Fair of partnerships in the area of professional youth exchange, the Russian-German Professional Youth Exchanges Day (September, Moscow), and the Russian-German Forum of organizers of sports youth exchanges (September, Astrakhan, Elista)
Among other things, the meeting agenda included the discussion of visa support issues, and the methodological and information support of Russian-German youth exchanges.

The Russian-German youth cooperation is carried out in accordance with the Agreement on youth cooperation between the Governments of the Russian Federation and the Federal Republic of Germany of December 21, 2004. In 2006, in order to implement the Agreement, coordination offices for youth exchanges were established both in Russia and in Germany. Since 2019, MIREA – Russian Technological University has performed the functions of the Russian Coordinating Bureau for Youth Exchanges with Germany. The functions of the German Bureau rest with the Foundation for German-Russian Youth Exchanges.
