Import Substitution of Information Technologies Educational and scientific testing complex

The Import Substitution of Information Technologies Educational and Scientific Testing Complex is an innovative platform created at the Institute of Information Technologies together with Rostelecom.

This is a large-scale project that solves the problems of training and retraining of the country's IT specialists in demand, ensuring technological and personnel sovereignty in the context of import substitution and subject to sanctions restrictions.

Areas of work of the complex:

  • Design, layout and expertise of applied solutions for IT infrastructures and their components;

  • Development of software for domestic operating systems and computer equipment;

  • Implementation and use of domestic IT products and IT solutions, in particular the Basis platform, in higher education programs, additional professional education and professional retraining, as well as in research, design and science and research activities of students and graduate students of RTU MIREA;

  • Implementation of projects for the development of information and communication technologies together with the leading domestic manufacturers, primarily with the major integrated provider of digital services and solutions in Russia, PJSC Rostelecom;

  • Implementation on the basis of a complex of joint educational programs;

  • Training and certification of the teaching staff and lecturers of RTU MIREA based on the materials of PJSC Rostelecom;

  • Development of methodological materials on procedures and processes of import substitution of information and communication technologies.

In order to achieve the set goals, the Import Substitution of Information Technologies Educational and Scientific Testing Complex has developed and set in place all the necessary infrastructure. The complex includes four locations: a server room, a design laboratory, a testing laboratory and a demonstration area.

The complex solves two tasks that are especially important in the context of import substitution and sanctions restrictions. On the one hand, it provides access to reference information on software and hardware of domestic production. And on the other, it ensures the availability of the software itself and computer equipment of national manufacturers. All this makes it possible to increase the efficiency of educational and research activities and maintain the technological and personnel sovereignty of the state.
