13.04.2021

From March 16 to March 18, the VI International Model UN was held at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in an online format.

The United Nations Organization Model (Model UN) is a synthesis of a scientific conference and role-playing game during which students imitate the work of UN bodies in one or more areas. The Model UN gives students an opportunity to act as representatives of specific states, take part in modeling the discussion, and find potential solutions to key controversial and burning issues of our time. Delegates, on the one hand, get the opportunity to gain experience in negotiating, and on the other, to expand their knowledge of international issues.

In 2021, the following committees worked within the framework of the model:

  • The General Assembly. Agenda: Global Internet Governance.
  • World Health Organization. Agenda: The problem of unequal access of countries to the COVID vaccine.
  • Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. Agenda: OPCW Reform.
Yaroslav Yasakov participated in the work of the Organization For The Prohibition Of Chemical Weapons in the framework of the VI Model UN at RUDN University and became winner in the nomination "The most insightful and result-oriented delegate".
