Exchange Programs

  • Training abroad on academic exchange programs allows students to have practical training or to study a part of the training program at a foreign higher education institution during one semester or year. The results of training at a foreign university are fully recognized and listed in the annex to the diploma.

An important condition for successful training is a good knowledge of a foreign language which allows to be trained at a foreign higher education institution. The main languages of training are either English, or the language of the country of residence.

Generally, fifth year students of a Specialist’s or a Master’s degree program participate in academic exchange programs. Training is free, except for travel expenses which students cover independently.

Detailed information can be received at the International Relations Department.

  • Double Degree Programs

Joint programs are realized and developed within Master’s degree programs in the field of Engineering Sciences and Economics.

Students have an opportunity to be trained at one of the foreign partner universities for one or two years. Thesis writing completes the training course. A graduate of the program gains two diplomas – the Russian diploma of MIREA and the foreign diploma of a foreign university.

The students wishing to take part in such a program have to choose, first of all, a foreign higher education institution and a training program which corresponds to the program of the University. Besides, it is necessary to estimate the knowledge of a foreign language which allows to be trained at a foreign higher education institution. The main languages of training are either English, or the language of the country of residence.

Applicants go through a competitive selection, the representatives of the foreign partner university take part in the work of the Selection Commission. As a rule, third year students of Specialist’s programs or fourth year students of Bachelor’s degree programs are allowed to participate in the competition.

In case of successful selection, the student is sent to the foreign university chosen. Training on these programs is completely free, except for flight and accommodation which the student pays independently.

For the period of study the accommodation on a foreign university campus is provided. Receiving a grant is possible.
