The 10th Anniversary Traditional Ball “The Nutcracker. A Christmas Tale” was held on December 16 at the RTU MIREA Sports Palace at 20 Stromynka Street, building 1. The event was attended by a record number of participants and guests. Students from 70 Moscow universities became part of a large-scale celebration.
This year, all the guests plunged into the XIX century and the fairy tales of “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”. A total of 15 dances were performed, the novelty of this year was: the Duke of Kent waltz and the Cinderella country dance. Also, in between dances, guests and honorary citizens were entertained in historical interactive events and took photos in thematic photo zones.
The anniversary ball was attended by the teams of the RTU MIREA Center for Culture and Creativity: the dance group from the show ballet “Accen”, the representatives of the club of fire and light “Diamond flow” and by Irina Epifanova, head of the pop vocal club, who appeared as a mouse queen. The performances made a huge impression on all those present!
The winners in the nomination “Best Image” were Konstantin Avramidi and Anna Agibalova. Their outfits were truly amazing!
By tradition, the long-awaited results of the competition “King and Queen of the Ball” were summed up:
1st place - Kirill Evdokimov and Diana Olshevskaya;
2nd place - Oleg Bezzubkin and Margarita Donskaya;
3rd place - Bogdan Davtyan and Sofia Zelenina.
As a result of voting among the finalists, the audience award went to Andrei Bushuev and Ekaterina Kopytina.
This summer, the King and Queen of the Ball and the winners of the Audience Choice Award will go on a trip to Russia’s westernmost city, Kaliningrad, as a gift from the University administration. Congratulations!
