Chairman of the MIREA Student Union represented the University at the Belarusian – Russian online conference

On April 21, the Belarusian – Russian conference The role of student self-government in the educational space of the university was held online. The event was organized to share the experience of student self-government bodies of higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. Leonid Skoropupov, Chairman of the MIREA Student Union, attended the conference.

The main topics discussed at the conference were the exchange of experience not only between student associations, but also the universities of the two countries, the organization of joint projects, including the activities organized jointly with schools to train activists and tutors, as well as military and patriotic education.

Representatives of students and leaders of student self-government bodies exchanged experience in organizing work in universities, discussed mechanisms for supporting youth initiatives,  and problematic issues relating to the development of student self-government.

The Belarusian side spoke about the creation of the "Concept for the development of student self-government", which will be approved and launched in the near future.

The event was attended by leaders of student self-governments, vice-rectors of leading universities of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
