Foreign RTU MIREA Students Participate in “Knowledge. The First Ones” Educational Marathon

On April 30, students from the Institute of International Education – hailing from both the near and far abroad – actively participated in the large-scale federal educational marathon “Knowledge. The First Ones.” organized by the Russian Znanie Society, the event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (Word War II) and celebrated the latest achievements in science, technology, culture, and social development.

A highlight of the marathon was the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who addressed attendees with a speech on patriotism and the pivotal role of the Russian people during the Great Patriotic War. The President also spoke about those people abroad who share Russian values and principles, as well as the importance of educational initiatives.

The marathon brought together a distinguished group of participants, including veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the special military operation, war correspondents, public and government officials, leaders of major companies, scientists, cultural and artistic figures, athletes, physicians, and other notable personalities. Leading experts delivered lectures and master classes designed to broaden students’ horizons and keep them informed about the latest developments across various fields.

Foreign students from the RTU MIREA Institute of International Education had the opportunity to try their hand as military medics, learn the basics of drone operation, and practice handgun shooting. “It was very interesting!” shared Yaya Soumare from Senegal. “I learned a lot about Russian innovations. Projects like this help us feel part of a large student family.”
