From December 3 to 8, the Rosatom Corporate Academy conducted the Sustainable ON project at the Sirius Educational Center in Sochi. More than 800 people sent applications describing their projects and willing to participate in the program which is aimed to implement the UN sustainable development goals. 70 students, authors of the best works, from 13 Rosatom partner countries were involved in the event. Among them were three students of RTU MIREA, specifically: Ishaq Kerolos Kamal William Girgis (Egypt), Mudenda Haambayi (Zambia) and Hossain Tipu SM Monaem (Bangladesh). Visionary lectures of the best industry experts on sustainable development were organized for the participants. The students took part in a business game aimed to develop project competencies, visited Krasnaya Polyana and took a quiz aimed to test their knowledge. An evening of Russian cuisine helped foreign students to have a better feel of the Russian culture and get familiarized with its customs and traditions. One of the most memorable events was the meeting with Alexei Likhachev, head of Rosatom, who told the students about the importance of nuclear energy production and development for the global economy. He emphasized the importance of attracting foreign students to educational projects in the industry. At the end of the lecture, the participants in the meeting asked questions about Rosatom’s cooperation with partner countries, safety of nuclear energy, and employment of foreign students in the Russian nuclear industry. The young people expressed their readiness for international cooperation and interest to develop projects aimed at ensuring sustainable development in their countries. Congratulations to all the participants in the project and best wishes of further success!
