Foreign students of RTU MIREA took part in the Day of Culture of the Republic of Chad

Students of the Institute of International Education RTU MIREA took part in the Day of Culture of the Republic of Chad organized by the Association of Chadian Students and Interns in the Russian Federation and the CIS with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Chad in Moscow. Deputy First Vice-Rector of RTU MIREA Irina Solunova also attended the event.

The festivity began with an exhibition of the cultural and historical heritage of the Republic of Chad, which presented samples of traditional men's and women's clothing, household utensils and items, photographs demonstrating the traditional way of life of the peoples inhabiting Chad. The visitors watched a film showing the beauty and diversity of nature, folk rituals and the modern lifestyle of the people of the Republic of Chad, they were also treated to traditional cuisine, and everyone had a chance to taste exotic dishes.

After the exhibition, there was a concert prepared by the students from the Republic of Chad whose program, along with traditional national songs and dances, included elements of the country's modern popular culture. The event ended with a staged ceremony of a traditional Chadian wedding

The festival was attended by Mussa Ismayil Bong, President of the community of the Republic of Chad, First Secretary of the Embassy and the representatives of the Embassy of the Republic. During the event, the RTU MIREA Institute of International Education was awarded a letter of appreciation for participating in the Culture Day of the Republic of Chad. Also, Chadian students studying at RTU MIREA expressed their gratitude to the University for the high level of training, and the organization of favorable conditions for their stay in Russia, as well as for the caring attitude of the staff to them.

Such events are a unique opportunity to get to know the culture and traditions of a new country, while listening to the information and stories about it from its people, who are always ready to speak about their homeland with great pleasure.
