Forum "Youth - for the Union State" in Mogilev

The 6th Youth Forum of Belarus and Russia “Youth - for the Union State” took place from 9 to 10 October as part of the official program of 5^th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia in the city of Mogilev.

The Forum discussed issues of youth integration in the framework of the Union State, the development of youth parliamentarism, youth participation in the development of modern infrastructure.

About 50 representatives of republican, federal, regional youth public organizations of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation took part in the event.

The Russian Federation was represented by delegates from the Russian Union of Youth, the Russian Union of Rural Youth, the National Council of Youth and Children's Associations of Russia, the RTU MIREA, and regional organizations: the NGO “Creative Youth Academy of the Republic of Tatarstan”, the regional public organization of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region “Yu-Peter”, DMEO “Association of Girl Scouts” and others. The RTU MIREA was represented by G. Petushkov, Director of the Youth Policy and International Relations Institute and his deputy, D. Bunkin.

The Forum discussed a number of issues, such as the role of youth in achieving sustainable development goals, cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the implementation of youth policy, effective practices to support youth civil initiatives, and others. D. Bunkin made a presentation in the section “Youth Participation in the Development of Modern Infrastructure and Creating Public Spaces” on the example of the Russian State Library for Youth, which is a model and base for testing new forms and methods of working with youth for public libraries in Russia. Also, the Deputy Director of the Youth Policy and International Relations Institute talked about the cooperation of the library and the RTU MIREA, Base Organization of the CIS Member States in working with young people, in the project “Electronic Library of a Specialist in Working with Young People in the CIS”. The work on the creation of this Internet resource is carried out by our University, in accordance with the decision of the Council on Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States.

The Forum was organized by the Public Association “Belarusian Republican Youth Union” and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.
