In December a delegation from Shaanxi province (PRC) paid an official visit to RTU MIREA.

On December 11, the top management of RTU MIREA met with the delegation of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education of Shaanxi Province, headed by Mr. Lan Xinzhe, Deputy General Director of the Department. The Chinese delegation had representatives of major Shaanxi province universities, such as the Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry (about 30,000 students), Shaanxi University of Science and Technology (more than 18,000 students), Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine. At the meeting RTU MIREA was represented by Alexander S. Sigov, President of the University, Irina S. Solunova, Deputy First Vice-Rector and Lyudmila A. Komkova, Head of the Department of International Relations. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of international cooperation concerning joint projects in the field of education, science and technology. The participants expressed mutual interest in developing and strengthening comprehensive relations between RTU MIREA and the universities in Shaanxi province. The program also included a visit to the laboratories of the Institute of Cybernetics, the Institute of Information Technology and the Physics and Technology Institute. Upon the results of the meeting, the participants agreed on the need to develop close and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields of science and education.
