From May 15 to May 20, the RANEPA (Presidential Academy) hosts the traditional International Conference Session “Governance and Development of Russia: Civilizational Challenges and National Interests”.

The program of the conference session includes more than 50 different events, expert sessions, round table discussions in various areas of research and practical developments, reflecting the most urgent and priority tasks of public administration and socio-economic development of Russia.

On May 17, within the framework of the conference session, the section “State Youth Policy: Challenges of the Time and Development Prospects” was held.

Dina Alexandrovna Sokolova, Deputy Director of the Institute of Youth Policy and International Relations of RTU MIREA, made a presentation at the section on the topic “International cooperation of the Russian Federation in youth policy: challenges and development prospects”.

In her presentation, Dina Alexandrovna spoke about the role of international youth cooperation as one of the main directions in the implementation of the Russian state youth policy and the humanitarian policy of the Russian Federation abroad, and also presented a brief overview of the legal documents on the basis of which this work is being implemented. Currently, there are 100 international intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements on youth cooperation. The Institute of Youth Policy and International Relations of RTU MIREA is in charge of the formation and updating of the register of these agreements.

One of the key-note ideas of the presentation was that for the first time in the history of modern Russia, the issues of international youth cooperation were reflected in the Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation (approved on March 31, 2023).

Moreover, the presentation concentrated on the evolution of the priorities of international youth cooperation since 1992 based on the analysis of key regulations, as well as the main directions and mechanisms for its implementation today in the context of various countries and regional associations, characteristics of key actors and recommendations for improving international youth cooperation with the account of the existing challenges.

The speaker also noted that RTU MIREA is one of the main actors in the development of international youth cooperation. The University exercises the powers of the Base Organization of the CIS Member States for work with youth, the Russian Coordinating Bureau in the field of youth cooperation with Germany, the Coordinating Bureau of Russian-Japanese Youth Exchanges, and is the operator of the Portal of Official Information on International Youth Cooperation. RTU MIREA annually, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, holds international bilateral and multilateral youth forums, conferences, seminars and meetings.

Finally, the speaker presented a collection of works dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the state youth policy, which RTU MIREA published at the request of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science in 2022.
