17.12.2021

The team of international students of the Institute of International Education RTU MIREA, under the guidance of S.S. Gulyants, senior lecturer of the Department of Russian (as a foreign language), participated in the 17th All-Russian Olympiad "Russian as a foreign language". The competition was held online at the Department of Philology of the RUDN University with the information support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation and the Russian Association of Teachers of the Russian Language and Literature.

RTU MIREA students from Macedonia, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan competed in the knowledge of the Russian language, history, geography and culture with 44 foreign students from 18 Russian universities. The competition was held in two areas: in humanities – where our University was represented by Sadokat Matyakubova (Uzbekistan), and in natural sciences and technology – by Adrita Azad (Bangladesh) and Ivancho Pupunovski (Macedonia).

Traditionally, all team leaders worked as members of the jury. They assessed video projects devoted to the topic "Russia is a country of great professional opportunities", written essays, active participation of students in quizzes and various contests. Upon the results of the Olympiad, the texts submitted by the participants and team leaders were published in the RSCI collection of materials. Apart from that, out of the competition, the students could demonstrate their talents in a festive concert. RTU MIREA presented three creative performances at the concert: two performances of the "Madagascar" international ensemble and the reading of an excerpt from the novel "Mother's Field" by Ch. Aitmatov performed by Sadokat Matyakubova. The concert and video projects of the participants can be viewed on the Russian in Focus channel.

After the meeting of the organizing committee, the results of the Olympiad were summed up. Our students became winners in three additional nominations:

Ivancho Pupunovski – in the "Quiz Leader" nomination;

Sadokat Matyakubova – in "The best user of the Russian language for ambitious professional goals" nomination;

Adrita Azad – in the nomination "For a connoisseur of Russian history and geography".

We congratulate our students and wish them further success and victories!
