Rector’s Congratulatory Speech on the Higher School Teacher’s Day

19.11.2021

Dear Colleagues!

I sincerely congratulate you on the Higher School Teacher’s Day! The order to establish a new holiday was signed by Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. This decision emphasizes the value and relevance of those working in higher education in Russia, their key role in the upbringing and professional development of young people. And it is no coincidence that it was November 19 that was chosen as the date for the holiday – the birthday of Mikhail Lomonosov, the founder of Moscow State University, a great Russian scientist, philosopher and writer.

It is even more significant that a new professional holiday appeared in 2021 which the President of Russia announced  as the Year of Science and Technology. This will undoubtedly contribute to the greater prestige of the teaching profession in higher education.

Faculty members generously share research and development best practices with students. The activity of a university professor implies not only a high level of knowledge, but also permanent self-study.

I sincerely congratulate you all on this holiday! I wish you new achievements in the field of pedagogical work, and talented and grateful students!
