Employees of the Department of International Relations and the Institute of International Education of RTU MIREA took part in the IV All-Russian seminar-meeting Issues of stay and adaptation of foreign students in the pandemic. The event was held online on November 27 at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation with the participation of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the State Duma Committee on Education and Science, Rosstrudnichestvo, the Association of Foreign Students of Russia, the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Border Service of the Federal Security Service.
During the meeting, issues relating to the legislation, the educational process and socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students were discussed, specifically: the visa support in a changing environment, innovations in migration laws, the advantages and disadvantages of online education, adaptation processes and health protection (medical support) of foreign students during the pandemic. Not only experts working with foreign students from leading Russian universities, but also public figures, presidents of associations of foreign students from different cities shared their experience. At the closing of the event, a representative of the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation answered the numerous questions about migration laws that have undergone some changes in connection with the pandemic.
Upon the results of the IV All-Russian seminar-meeting Issues of stay and adaptation of foreign students in the pandemic, a final resolution was adopted, and the proposals on which were sent to the State Duma Committee on Education and Science, and to the Government of the Russian Federation.
