RTU MIREA will become one of 19 Russian universities that, from September 2024, will launch unified programs for future front-end and back-end developers, worked out by Yandex Education. The modules will be built into university courses and will enhance them with applied disciplines and Yandex cases.
Second- and third-year students will master Python and JavaScript, Django backend, working with API services, object-oriented programming, they will also get acquainted with server infrastructure management and other topics that will allow them to master in-demand IT competencies. The programs include project work and practical workshops with the analysis of industrial cases. Students' final projects will be assessed by both university professors and professionals from Yandex.
New Yandex Education programs are the first example of programs when educational content from an IT company is simultaneously integrated into almost two dozen universities across the country. In addition to the content of the modules, the company has prepared a course for assistants and teachers, in which they will become familiar with the practices of hybrid and online education, interactive methods of teaching IT disciplines, as well as the processes of assessment and review of IT projects. The programs will be taught by current Yandex employees.

Previously, there were specialized programs (profiles) launched, such as Data Management within the framework of the direction 09.03.03 “Applied Informatics” at the Institute of Information Technology, Security of Software Solutions as part of the direction 09.03.02 “Information Systems and Technologies” at the Institute of Cybersecurity and Digital Technologies.
Yandex Lyceum operates on the basis of Altair Children's Technopark of RTU MIREA. Training is conducted in two branded computer classes, where 12 groups of up to 17 students each can study at the same time, which makes the site the largest of a kind for the implementation of the program.
Yandex holds open door days, organizes excursions to its headquarters, and Company Days for students of RTU MIREA. University professors regularly undergo training in advanced training programs provided by the industrial partner.
Cooperation between Yandex and RTU MIREA makes it possible to improve the quality of training of IT specialists and significantly expand the possibilities of practice-oriented training at the University.
