From April 14 to 18, two representatives of RTU MIREA – E.A. Slyozkina, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education, and N.P. Melnichenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language — took part in the Second International University Fair (“2025 Festival Show”) in Tajikistan. The event was organized by the Center for International Programs under the country’s Ministry of Education and Science.
The fair took place in Dushanbe, Bokhtar, and Khujand, bringing together 82 universities and research centers from 13 countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, China, Cyprus, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Malaysia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
At the opening ceremony in the National Library of Tajikistan, Deputy Prime Minister Dilrabo Mansuri spoke about the country’s international educational ties and highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts over the past three decades to advance all areas of social life, especially education.
Russia’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoryev said: “The Russian Federation responded with enthusiasm to the invitation of Tajikistan, our strategic ally and partner, by sending to the fair a strong ‘national team’ of 40 leading universities, whose degrees serve as ‘signs of distinction’ and assure recognition of their holders by professional communities”. He added that Russian education is in high demand in Tajikistan: of the 40,000 Tajik students studying abroad, 30,000 are in Russia, and this number has been growing steadily.
Throughout the fair, more than 6,000 high-school and university students attended. Visitors to the RTU MIREA stand were able to ask questions and get information about admission rules, requirements for foreign applicants (with and without tuition fees), popular educational programs, the living conditions on campus, and the benefits of studying at RTU MIREA.
