RTU MIREA Gives Presentations at Schools in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

30.04.2025

From April 22 to 24, RTU MIREA representatives E.A. Slyozkina, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education, and K.A. Perevoshchikova, Deputy Director of the Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies, gave presentations at two Tashkent high schools and at the Russian Cultural Center in Uzbekistan. Students in grades 9 to 11 learned about RTU MIREA’s most popular programs, unique student opportunities, and admission requirements – including those under the Russian government quota for foreign citizens and stateless persons – as well as application procedures and deadlines.

Ms. Perevoshchikova also led a master class for 10th graders, “Chemistry as an Individual Form of Art,” focusing on chemical extraction and how the process can be used to obtain certain natural indicators in the lab. Students performed experiments to see how a natural indicator’s color changes with the pH of the medium, making the lesson especially memorable.

For chemistry and biology teachers, a seminar titled “Project Activities in Chemistry and Biology as a Tool for Early Career Guidance of School Students” covered project concepts and classes, in addition to practical guidance for running school chemistry or biology lab projects.

Presentations were also made at the Euromed School, laying the foundation for future partnership in promoting RTU MIREA’s research and educational activities. A cooperation agreement was signed with the school to train highly skilled specialists for Uzbekistan and strengthen ties between the educational institutions.
