On June 17, MIREA – Russian Technological University welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation. The guests were introduced to the university’s technological facilities and infrastructure and were given a tour of RTU MIREA’s conference hall – the largest in Russia – designed and equipped under the “Priority 2030” program to support the work of academics and students and to promote science and technology nationwide.
Special attention was given to the Altair Children’s Technopark at RTU MIREA. Here, representatives of the Ministry learned about the university’s comprehensive approach to training specialists for the radio-electronic industry, starting with early career guidance for schoolchildren and continuing through to university education and the graduation of young professionals. The discussion also covered joint training initiatives with industrial partners, who are involved at every stage – from classes and internships to the employment of graduates.
The key industrial partners of RTU MIREA today include Rostec State Corporation, ASCON, Eremex, Russian Space Systems, institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and many others.
The delegations explored opportunities for seamless educational pathways from pre-professional to higher education programs, as well as the potential to scale RTU MIREA’s experience in training specialists for the radio-electronic sector.
The tour concluded with a visit to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s Departmental Situation Center for monitoring education and science, which operates at RTU MIREA.
The visitors and their hosts discussed possible collaboration on developing a system for monitoring and employing university graduates within the Ministry and its affiliated organizations. An important prospect was highlighted: creating a talent pool for the Ministry at RTU MIREA, developing specialized educational programs, and expanding professional development modules to meet the Ministry’s needs. In particular, the conversation focused on enhancing management competencies, which will help graduates secure employment with the Ministry immediately after graduation.
