From September 1 to September 19, the VR program of the 78th Venice International Film Festival will be demonstrated in Moscow. The oldest world film festival is the first show to include immersive projects in its official competition program.

Since 2017, annually on the island of Lido in Venice, the Venice VR program has shown the best interactive works from around the world. Since last year, the VR program of the Venice International Film Festival has been running online, as well as in a number of VR locations in 14 cities around the world. Moscow, along with Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Montreal, is also among the cities where a VR location will open during the Venice International Film Festival.

The Less Media Group interactive studio in partnership with ExpoContent was once again the initiator and organizer of the Venice VR Expanded show in Moscow. The technical partners of the project are MIREA – Russian Technological University and the Russian representative office of HTC Vive. The educational program was supported by the University of Creative Industries Universal University (represented by the British Higher School of Design, Moscow School of Cinema, Scream School).

The show will take place at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. Specialists from the Institute of Information Technologies of RTU MIREA will be closely following the event and will provide playback of VR content and help each visitor in using virtual reality headsets.
