During the period from October 16 to 21, a showcase of Russian universities “Russian Educational Exhibition KARACHI – 2023” was held in Karachi, and the events were also held to select candidates for study in Russian educational organizations. Representatives of RTU MIREA took part in the exhibition – Irina S. Solunova, Deputy First Vice-Rector and Evgeniya A. Keller, Head of the International Relations Department.
As part of the exhibition, representatives of the leading Russian universities visited various educational organizations in Karachi, including the Federal Urdu University, Commecs College, IQRA University, Karachi University, St. Patrick's College, Sindh Technical Education Council, where they were able to communicate with Pakistani schoolchildren and students, as well as their parents, tell them about the possibilities of studying in Russia both within the framework of the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation and on a paid-for basis. Over the entire period, more than 2,000 people visited the exhibition.
During the visits to educational organizations, our colleagues were also able to discuss potential areas for further interaction in education, science, technology and academic exchanges with the management and administration of several universities in Karachi. Pakistani colleagues were especially interested in such areas of cooperation as organizing joint scientific conferences, exchanging teachers and staff, as well as in teaching courses of Russian as a foreign language at school and higher educational institutions in Pakistan. Apart from that, representatives of RTU MIREA took part in a meeting with Andrey Fedorov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Pakistan, where issues of popularizing the Russian language and promoting Russian education in Pakistan were raised and practical tools were proposed for the implementation of projects in these areas.
