On May 7-13, the 2024 European Sambo Championships took place in Novi Sad (Serbia). The city hosted the continental tournament for the second time, with the previous competition taking place in 2022. More than 750 athletes from 29 countries participated in the tournament, which was a record number for a continental championship. Athletes from Russia, Belarus and France competed in a neutral status. For the first time, the European Championship program included women's combat sambo competitions. Competitions among boys and juniors were also held as part of the championship - the European Sambo Championship.
In the “80+ kg” weight category, Alisa Pavlova, the representative of our University (group EOSO-01-23), became winner in the European Sambo Championship among juniors. Alisa is member of the national team of RTU MIREA under the leadership of Alexey Sergeevich Tyutryumov, senior professor of the Department of Physical Education.
