On the night of June 21-22, students, postgraduates and employees of MIREA –Russian Technological University took part in the All-Russian Candle of Memory Action at the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora. The event was timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
Before the start of the action, all the guests listened to the songs of the war years performed by the Russian Guard Orchestra. Exactly at midnight, a minute of silence was announced, which was followed by the song “Cranes” performed by the singer Yevgeny Kungurov. ⠀
At the end of the event, participants lit 1,418 candles at the Eternal Flame – by the number of days of the Great Patriotic War. The candles were also used to create a picture dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Moscow, with the words “Moscow remembers”. Also, a video installation appeared on the facade of the museum.
