RTU MIREA together with its strategic partners held a Digital Sovereignty hackathon

The results of the Digital Sovereignty national multi-day hackathon organized by ICS RTU MIREA together with its strategic partners, have been summed up upon completion.

While implementing one of the most important directions of the RTU MIREA educational policy, within the framework of the Priority-2030 Academic Leadership Program, the Institute of Cybersecurity of Digital Technologies, together with its strategic partners – leading IT companies, pays significant attention to organizing and conducting competitions, master classes and hackathons for future specialists in information technologies and information security.

A significant contribution to the organization and conduct of the Digital Sovereignty hackathon was made by the employees of the Department of Software Solutions Development and System Programming of the Institute of Cybersecurity and Digital Technologies.

The main goal of the event - popularization of modern trends in problem solving, search and support of young talents in the field of information technology and information security - was achieved through the support and participation in the organization and conduct of the hackathon of partner organizations:

• Sitronics Group

• Baikal Electronics

• ARENADATA

• CommuniGate Systems

• Federal state unitary enterprise Research Institute “Kvant”

More than 300 students and schoolchildren, including those from Russian regions, took part in the qualifying round. The teams worked on the tasks of administering network and server infrastructure, developing applications and software solutions, automating software installation and configuration, finding vulnerabilities, reverse engineering and investigating computer incidents.

As part of the hackathon, a special platform was organized for the exchange of expertise and knowledge between participants and experts - representatives of partner organizations who assessed projects and made recommendations for their improvement. The Digital Sovereignty hackathon has become a successful large-scale project that brought together aspiring developers and IT specialists, helping to improve the level of professional competencies in the field of information technologies among students and schoolchildren.
