26.03.2024

RTU MIREA and Rosatom entered into an agreement on cooperation in training specialists for the nuclear industry. The signing ceremony took place on March 26 within the framework of the International Forum ATOMEXPO-2024.

The cooperation agreement between Rosatom and RTU MIREA provides for interaction on the creation and implementation of specialized training areas for the State Corporation, concluding agreements on targeted training, on-the-job training and internships, providing employment opportunities in the industry for graduates, as well as conducting joint R&D.

On behalf of Rosatom, the agreement was signed by Tatyana Terentyeva, Deputy General Director for Personnel of the Rosatom State Corporation.

“The development of nuclear energy is one of the key areas outlined by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his 2024 Address to the Federal Assembly. The head of state set a goal: to create globally competitive products based on unique domestic developments, including in the field of nuclear and new energy technologies. The agreement signed by our University with Rosatom State Corporation ─ the undisputed world-class technological leader ─ not only opens up new horizons for our students, but also lays the basis for the development of the entire industry,” comments Stanislav Kudzh, RTU MIREA Rector.

RTU MIREA and Rosatom have a long-standing partnership. The University has a Basic Department of Information Technologies in Nuclear Energy, which provides training in the interests of JSC CONSIST-OS and JSC Greenatom. Since 2023, JSC NPO “KIS” of Rosatom has become one of the partners of RTU MIREA in the Advanced Engineering Schools federal project, on the basis of which personnel will be trained for the Critical Infrastructure business line.

Furthermore, in June 2023, RTU MIREA and the Rosatom State Corporation signed a roadmap for cooperation. Within the framework of the document, special attention is paid to the training of a team of students from RTU MIREA to participate in AtomSkills - an industry championship of professional excellence of the Rosatom State Corporation according to the WorldSkills methodology.

The roadmap also covers the training of future IT specialists starting with the school age. For this purpose, it is planned to launch career guidance activities on the basis of the RTU MIREA division - Altair Children's Technopark. The Rosatom State Corporation will support schoolchildren who strive to implement their projects and initiative developments, and the most talented children will have the opportunity to conclude a deferred employment contract with the enterprises of the State Corporation.
