The small spacecraft (SSC) RTU MIREA1 of the Cubesat 3U form factor, created on the platform of the Geoscan company and launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome on November 5, spent a week in orbit. During this time, the SSC service systems were tested.
With the means of the Geoscan company, control commands were successfully transmitted to the SSC and telemetry data was received confirming the operability of the service systems: antennas are open, the temperature on board is +10 °C, voltage is at the nominal value, the consumption current is also nominal - the SSC reported normal operation.
Radio amateurs in Russia and abroad, representing the SONICS (Network of open ground research station complexes) and SatNOGS (Open Source global network of satellite ground-stations), also conducted a number of reception sessions from the SSC, which confirms the operability of its service systems.
Testing of the target load installed on board the SSC will begin soon:
• optical-electronic camera;
• on-board navigation receiver;
• transmitting and receiving module for inter-satellite communications.
The RTU MIREA1 small spacecraft is being developed within the framework of the Space-π project of the Planet Duty Officer program (Agreement with FASIE No. 94S2/MOL/73887, dated March 25, 2022)*.
*The Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education "MIREA - Russian Technological University" (RTU MIREA) is the winner in the competition of the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations (FASIE) for financial support of organizational, technical and methodological support of projects of the Planet Duty Officer program (VIII stage).
