On February 4, the winners of the student essay competition returned after an exciting journey along the Golden Ring of Russia route in honor of the National Unity Day.

Annagul Kuvadova from Turkmenistan, one of the winners in the competition, a student of the International Education Group Institute ХХBО-04-23, shared her impressions of the trip:

“We have just returned from an award trip organized by the University for our victory in the student essay competition and dedicated to the Day of National Unity, in November 2023. During these days we immersed ourselves in the history and beauty of the cities of Yaroslavl, Suzdal, Vladimir, Bogolyubovo. Our cultural program was versatile and exciting. We visited temples, cathedrals, museums, monuments; we got inspired by the excursions and picturesque places we saw, strolled along the embankment and learned the history of famous people whose names are associated with these places. For example, the first female cosmonaut, Valentina Tereshkova, was born in Yaroslavl.

When we were approaching the city of Vladimir, from the window of the bus I saw the famous Vladimir prison (Vladimirsky Tsentral), about which Mikhail Krug sings in his song. I will especially remember the city of Suzdal with its cozy streets and kind and friendly residents. Every corner of this city has its own history and its own cathedrals, and the local residents literally live in the vicinity of the Suzdal Kremlin. The residents say that when they call a taxi, they indicate the location as the Kremlin. I was impressed by the unusual candy produced in Suzdal, such as pine cones jam and marshmallow made of cucumbers. For me it was something new, and it was for the first time that I tasted such exotic delicacies.

I am in raptures about the nature and beauty of Russian cities and neighborhoods. I have never seen such beautiful winter and natural landscapes before! I really took fancy to the people whom we met. Everyone treated us with respect and consideration. I am completely delighted with this trip and I am grateful to our University and the organizers for such a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the history and beauty of the Russian cities!”
