The faculty and staff of MIREA – Russian Technological University participated in the selection of future applicants from the Republic of Uzbekistan

In March and April 2021, MIREA – Russian Technological University  employees took part in the selection of candidates from the Republic of Uzbekistan for training in educational institutions of the Russian Federation in the 2021/2022 academic year as part of the implementation of Decree No. 891 of the Government of the Russian Federation of October 8, 2013 “On establishing a quota for educating foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Russian Federation”. 

The selection testing of students was held in two stages. At the first stage, more than 1,800 candidates took tests in the Russian language and specialized subjects depending on the area of study they had chosen. The testing was organized by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the participation of representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan, "Rosatom" State Corporation, the representative office of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of 22 Russian universities from Moscow, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Kursk, Stavropol, Kaliningrad, Khabarovsk, Barnaul, Yekaterinburg, Yoshkar-Ola, Novocherkassk, Pskov, Tyumen, Ufa. 

At the second stage of qualifying events, candidates had to take either face-to-face or distance motivational interviews.

MIREA – Russian Technological University was represented by I.S. Solunova, Deputy First Vice Rector, E.A. Slyozkina, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education, I.Yu. Burtseva, Head of the Department for work with foreign students of the International Relations Department, S.S. Gulyants, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of the Institute of International Education and O.V. Chernyshova, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements named after K.A Bolshakov of Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies.  

Also, the staff and the lecturers from the Institute of International Education and the International Relations Department of MIREA – Russian Technological University held a number of career guidance events in order to attract foreign nationals to study at MIREA – Russian Technological University in higher education programs at the educational centers in Tashkent. In their presentations, our colleagues talked about the University, admission rules, areas of study, educational opportunities on a budgetary basis, and lots of other issues. Everyone could personally communicate with representatives of the University, ask questions that were of interest and get all the necessary information.
