The Institute of Information Technologies introduces into the educational process, design and scientific activities the autonomous motion capture system Perception Neuron Studio

27.03.2024

Since 2020, the Institute of Information Technologies has been using a motion capture laboratory in its educational process and project activities, in which students study animation technologies for game characters. This laboratory complex, jointly with VK, is involved in the educational program “Development and design of computer games and multimedia applications” in the direction of training 09.03.04 “Software Engineering”. A significant limitation in the use of the technologies available in it was their binding to the premises of this laboratory complex.

Starting from April, the autonomous motion capture system Perception Neuron Studio will be available at the Institute of Information Technologies in the educational process, project and research activities of students and graduate students.

A location with cameras will not be required to capture the movements of actors, and recording animations of game characters will become possible in the field, which will significantly expand the availability of motion capture technologies for students and employees.

The first demonstration of the Perception Neuron Studio system will take place at the exhibition of the Institute of Information Technologies at the Open Day of all educational programs of RTU MIREA on April 7.
