From October 23 to November 1, Victoria Zakharova, Head of the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens at the Institute of International Education, took part in a traveling exhibition of Russian higher education in China, organized by the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. The exhibition route passed through the cities of Qingdao, Qufu, Xuzhou, Hefei, and Beijing.
Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, emphasized the importance of the event, noting: “Chairman Xi Jinping took part in the meeting of BRICS leaders in Kazan, where much attention was paid to the topics of humanitarian exchanges, culture, science, and technology. We would like to hope that thanks to this event, both sides will strengthen cooperation and exchanges in various fields, which will give new impetus to the development of the two countries.”
As part of the exhibition, meetings were organized with representatives of Chinese educational organizations, during which prospects for further cooperation in the field of education were discussed, as well as with potential applicants from the provinces of Anhui, Jiangsu, and Shandong. In addition, the participants of the exhibition visited the Institute of Plasma Physics (Hefei), where they learned about the latest achievements in the field of studying thermonuclear fusion.
Representatives of 13 leading universities from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ulyanovsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Kazan and other cities of Russia took part in the exhibition.
The exhibition events were attended by more than three thousand Chinese schoolchildren and students, as well as representatives of Chinese educational institutions and recruiting agencies.
The Russian Higher Education Exhibition has become an important platform for strengthening mutual understanding between universities in the two countries. The event is of great importance for the development of humanitarian exchanges between Russia and China, and also promotes deepening cooperation in the field of education.
