On March 17, the Institute of Management Technologies hosted a master class “The Digital Future of Russia or How an Economist Becomes Part of the Team of Employees of a Leading IT Company”. Dmitry Smirnov, manager of educational projects for VK and GeekZ, became the guest host of the master class. The event was organized by the Department of Economics.

The event was attended by students and university lecturers and trainers.

Dmitry Smirnov, in his presentation gave a description of the Russian labor market, with an overview of the average annual salary level for specialists, he also touched upon the issue of employment prospects and building a career for a specialist with an economic education in the IT field.

The topics and content of the master class evoked an active response from the students. The event was followed by a discussion relating to the issues on the agenda. Particular attention was drawn to the way IT-technologies change the requirements of employers for future employees.
