On March 29, at the Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies students met with Irina Andreevna Vendilo, General Director of Roskhimreaktiv Association.

The event was organized by the Student Scientific Society of the Institute as part of the new program of meetings with partners of the university Chemistry of Success, which is being implemented in accordance with the goals of the Priority 2030 program of strategic academic leadership.

At the Chemistry of Success series of meetings, leaders and prominent representatives of chemical and pharmaceutical companies share with students the secrets of success in their profession.

Currently, the Roskhimreaktiv Association has 24 member enterprises, including manufacturers and suppliers of chemical reagents and ultra-pure chemicals, and analytical instruments. As part of the meeting, Irina Andreevna held an open lecture for students on the topic “The graduate of the chemical specialty as seen by the modern employer.”

The students got acquainted with the enterprises of the Roskhimreaktiv Association, learnt about the features of medium- and small-tonnage chemistry, they also learnt who today are the most sought-after specialties, and which competencies they should have when applying for a job.

Hence, the most important competencies are practical knowledge and expertise relating to chemical production, profound theoretical training and fundamental knowledge. Young specialists appreciate the opportunity to learn and self-learn, and the ability to work in a team. At the same time, employers are increasingly paying attention to graduates who also have a working profession: a machine operator, a laboratory assistant, an operator of production processes. It appears that, according to the results of the research, the most demanded for areas of training in chemical industry are those that are dealt with at the Lomonosov Institute of Chemical Technologies, specifically: Fundamental and Applied Chemistry, Chemistry and Chemical Technology.

At the end of the meeting, the students were most willing to learn about the opportunity to do an internship at the enterprises of the Roskhimreaktiv Association, they asked questions about their future profession and searched for advice on how to develop their competencies and participate in various events dedicated to chemistry.
