The other day the renowned choir of the Sretensky Monastery performed on the stage of RTU MIREA. The choir has existed for seven hundred years being silent only during the 70 years of the Soviet power. With the revival of monastic life in 1993, the choir singing of the remarkable group turned again to the souls of the people via the song.
The faculty, staff and students enjoyed the performance of one of the best creative groups in the world.
Opening the concert dedicated to the Day of National Unity, Stanislav Alekseevich Kudzh, RTU MIREA Rector, noted: “Today the time has come when we especially need national unity when the work of gifted soloists and composers who turn to the song heritage of our people — Cossack songs, songs of the war years, romances in unique choral arrangements — is particularly in demand.”
Georgy Alexandrovich Struve, a prominent composer, said: “Choral singing unites people, gives them spiritual uplift and a sense of fraternal harmony.” No wonder the Sretensky Monastery choir is called the “cultural special forces of Russia.” On the stages of many countries, the choir glorifies the true cultural and human values of our Motherland.
It was the choir of the Sretensky Monastery that had the honor to perform the anthem of the Russian Federation at the Opening Ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.
The concert was attended by students, lecturers and trainers, employees of our University and their relatives. The activists joined in, as well as the council of veterans of the Troparevo-Nikulino district.
The management and staff of RTU MIREA are true fans of your team.
We thank the choir of the Sretensky Monastery for their great talent, for the real sense of entity and national unity which the choir gives to its audience!
