University foreign students at concert of Amjad Ali Khan

Foreign students and teachers of the International Education Institute of Moscow Technological University were invited by the representatives of the Cultural Center. Jawaharlal Nehru to attend the concert of the legendary Indian musician Amjad Ali Khan at the Embassy of India in Moscow, timed to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and India. This holiday was hotly awaited by both Russian and Indian audiences. The P.I. Tchaikovsky Concert Hall does not remember so many viewers: there were no empty seats left.

Students from Egypt, Yemen, Iraq, Uzbekistan, China, Equatorial Guinea got the opportunity to listen to an amazing musical instrument - the Sarod. This is a traditional string-pluck instrument, which gives rise to a deep, voluminous recognizable sound, instantly transferring the listener to the motherland of the instrument - to India.

Amjad Ali Khan is respectfully called "Maestro of Sarod". His sarod sounds at the ceremony of the Nobel Prizes Awarding, opening and closing of the Olympic Games, meetings of the UN Assembly. The musician has the title of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, has received such prestigious awards as the Asian Fukuoka Culture Award, Crystal Award at the International Economic Forum in Davos, Global Music Awards, the Order of Arts and Literature of France, he is nominated for a Grammy.

In Russia, the artist opened the Sarod performance with the most famous Russian song - "Podmoskovnye Vechera."

The maestro travels around the world, gives master classes and performs with his sons - Aman and Ayyan. Together they represent the seventh generation of the Sarod players of the Bangash dynasty. The main task of musicians is to call for love and friendship among all the peoples of the Earth irrespective of race, nationality and religion.
