On January 28, an Open Door Day was held at RTU MIREA, where specialists from the University and the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Department of Health (MDH) presented a joint Bachelor’s training program “Technologies and Artificial Intelligence Systems in Healthcare” within the framework of direction 09.03.01. “Informatics and computer technology”.

The cooperation is carried out in the context of the university’s participation in the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program, which includes various forms of interaction with industrial partners. The joint educational activities of RTU MIREA and the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Health Department will contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists for the implementation of the national strategy for the development of artificial intelligence, including those in the field of healthcare.

As part of the new bachelor's profile in Technologies and Artificial Intelligence Systems, in-depth training of specialists in the development of artificial intelligence services in healthcare will be provided. Students will gain in-depth knowledge in the development of artificial intelligence services and data analysis tools, including machine learning, predictive technologies, and decision support technologies.

Bachelor's training will be conducted by IT experts from RTU MIREA and the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Department of Health. Students will be able to participate in projects of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Health Department and will gain unique experience in working with medical data, the skills to “build” their developments into medical information systems, understanding the specific requirements of practical healthcare.

Bachelor's degree graduates will be able to create services based on artificial intelligence to solve applied problems, work with big data, evaluate the quality of artificial intelligence technologies at life cycle stages, and test software products based on artificial intelligence technologies.

A cooperation agreement between RTU MIREA and the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Health Department was signed on February 20, 2022. Previously, the parties had already launched unique Master’s programs in Data Mining and advanced training in Aspects of Development and Testing of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Healthcare.

The training of students in all training programs is based on the best practices of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Health Department, the flagship for the implementation of artificial intelligence in radiology diagnostics. The Scientific and Practical Center has unique experience in working with neural networks on a large flow of radiation studies, since the largest experiment on the introduction of technologies based on artificial intelligence in healthcare is carried out on its premises: in four years, more than 10 million studies have been processed here.
