On the basis of RTU MIREA, the opening procedure of a modern biotechnological research and educational center of MBC Generium LLC will soon take place

On March 12, at 10 a.m. the new Research and Educational Center for biosynthesis, isolation and purification of monoclonal antibodies will open on the premises of the Altair RTU MIREA Children's Technopark, which will provide targeted training of highly qualified personnel for the biopharmaceutical industry.
The creation of the new research and educational center has been driven by the modern requirements for the higher education system and training for domestic industry, noted, among other things, at a joint meeting of the Presidium of the State Council and the Presidential Council on Science and Education on February 6.
The Research and Educational Center is designed to train qualified personnel in the field of biotechnology and industrial pharmacy. Specialists of companies - leaders of the domestic market in biotechnological development and production of medicines, in particular, MBC Generium LLC, and international manufacturers of pharmaceutical equipment for bioprocesses, companies of Global Life Science Solutions RUS, were involved in the development of the target-oriented training program of the Center, Sartorius Stedim RUS LLC and 3M Russia JSC.
On the one hand, this is a guarantee that the current requests of employers to graduates will be satisfied, and on the other, the timely training of specialists in demand areas will be provided.
The high level of training for the graduates of the center will be ensured by an exclusive lecture course created by the RTU MIREA staff with the support of the leading specialists of MBC Generium, LLC. Students will receive practical skills in the new training and research laboratory equipped with modern research and technological equipment.
The new educational center will ensure continuous training of specialized personnel for the biotechnological industry - from high school through the University to the target workplace. Such a practice-oriented approach raises a system of education and training of specialists to a fundamentally new level. One of its inherent elements is the Altair Children's Technopark created at the University on the initiative of the Moscow Government.
This pre-vocational training contributes to the career guidance for students, inspires interest in the future profession and introduces them to the potential employer. Further professional competencies are to be developed at the stage of higher education programs at RTU MIREA.
Such a systemic approach to the staff trained for high-tech industries, including biotechnology, provides a solution to one of the key tasks of contemporary education: interaction of education and the real sector of the economy, which was identified by Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, at a session of the Russian Union of Rectors Council on February 18, 2020.
The Research and Educational Center provides opportunities for the cultivation of mammalian cells and chromatographic purification of recombinant proteins, has its own targeted training program, including a lecture course and a set of practical exercises. The curriculum also implies that students complete qualification master's work on relevant topics of biopharmaceuticals.
Target-oriented training of highly qualified personnel will ensure effective employment of the graduates in modern domestic enterprises of the biopharmaceutical industry.
