RTU MIREA representatives took part in the webinar Work of Russian universities with foreign students during the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection

On December 23, 2020, representatives of the International Relations Department, the Institute of International Education (IMO), the Pre-university Training Department for Foreign Citizens took part in the webinar The work of Russian universities with foreign students during the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection hosted by the Federal state autonomous educational institution of higher education Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia with the participation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. 

The issues of organizing the educational process for foreign students in a pandemic, the advantages and disadvantages of online education for foreign citizens in the Russian Federation and abroad, as well as changes in migration legislation were discussed.

Vice-rectors for international activities of the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MEI)” and St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University (LETI) shared their experience. Head of the passport department of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) clarified the novellas in migration legislation for the period of the pandemic; she also spoke about the law provisions of general nature, and recommended an individual approach in each specific case.
