The Institute of International Education RTU MIREA is an active participant in the program for promoting the Russian language abroad

On December 13-14, the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Italy, on the basis of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Rome, held a forum for graduates of Russian and Soviet pedagogical universities "Alma mater - pedagogical". The purpose of the event was to attract scientists from Russia to promote the Russian language in Europe, as well as to hold a number of meetings and scientific and methodological consultations on teaching Russian as a foreign language.

The forum was attended by scientists and representatives of the education sector from Armenia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Egypt, Italy, Spain, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Uzbekistan, France. Russia was represented by scientists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod.

Lyubov Nikolayevna Glebova, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building, addressed the forum participants with a welcoming speech. She noted the importance of the educational tradition in Russian universities, the desire to cooperate, to help colleagues living abroad in the advancement of education in Russian and in attracting foreign applicants.

Dariya Alekseevna Pushkova, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Italy, Director of the RCSC in Rome, demonstrated to the participants a variety of programs in Russian that are in demand in Italy.

Emanuele Isidori, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Cooperation of the Foro Italico University of Rome, spoke about his desire and interest to cooperate with Russian universities where there are departments of the Russian language for foreign bachelors and undergraduates.

RTU MIREA was represented by Elena Nikolaevna Tarasova, Head of the Department of Russian (as a Foreign Language) of the Institute of International Education, with a plenary report "Cognition as the basis of the pedagogical strategy for teaching Russian as a foreign language".

In the course of the forum, an agreement was reached to support the Russian language platform in Italy with the active participation of the Institute of International Education of RTU MIREA.
