The local public organization – the Primary trade union organization of workers and students of MIREA – Russian Technological University - acts to represent and protect the legitimate socio-economic interests of professors and trainers, staff and students of the University.
The main activities of the organization are:
1. Representation of the interests of the labor collective
a. Negotiations and collective bargaining
b. Improving the material well-being of employees
c. Public control over the working and living conditions of employees
d. Labor relations issues between the employee and the employer
2. Representation of students' interests
a. Support in the implementation of educational work with students at the University in terms of organizing events
b. Administration of social programs (Moscow Government grants, RZhD-Bonus, Donor movement)
The supreme governing body of the organization is the Conference convened at least once every 5 years. The management between the Conferences is carried out by the elected bodies of the Trade Union Committee and the Bureau. The operational management of the activity is entrusted to the Chairman of the Trade Union Organization.
The organization has over 10,000 student members and 500 university staff members.
In 2019, the trade union organizations of students and university employees were reorganized into a single structure.
