To provide financial assistance to low-income full-time students and graduate students out of the federal budget funds, money is allocated in the amount of 25% of the scholarship fund envisaged for the purpose and provided for the payment of state academic scholarships for students and state social scholarships for students.
To whom is it paid?
Financial assistance can be received by:
1) STUDENTS in need of full-time budgetary education:
- orphans and children left without parental care;
- persons recognized in the established procedure as invalids of I, II, III groups, and invalids of childhood;
- persons who were exposed to radioactive contamination as a result of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident and other radiation disasters;
- persons who are disabled, and combat veterans;
- persons having one or both parents of disabled persons of I or II group;
- persons who have received state social assistance;
- persons who are members of an incomplete family (loss of a breadwinner);
- persons brought up by a single parent;
- persons who are members of large families;
- persons having both parents - disabled persons of the III group or pensioners;
- persons who are members of a young family with or without children (husband and wife are students or one person is a student, and the second one is a graduate student).
2) full-time budgetary education STUDENTS IN NEED who are CITIZENS OF OTHER STATES:
- orphans and children left without parental care;
- persons who are members of an incomplete family (loss of a breadwinner);
- persons who are members of a young family with or without children (husband and wife are students, or one person is a student, and the other one is a graduate student).
3) low-income POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS of full-time budgetary education:
- recognized in the established manner as invalids of I, II, III groups, invalids of childhood;
- persons who were exposed to radioactive contamination as a result of the catastrophe during the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and other radiation disasters;
- persons who are disabled, and combat veterans;
- those who have received state social assistance;
- persons having one or both parents of disabled persons of I or II group;
- persons who are members of a young family with a child (husband and wife are students or postgraduates).
4) the low-income POSTGRADUATES of full-time budgetary education who are CITIZENS OF OTHER STATES:
- who are members of a young family with a child (husband and wife are students or postgraduates), students and graduate students, upon the birth of a child after they present a birth certificate of a child within 3 months from the date of birth.
5) undergraduate and graduate students in the event of death of a parent upon presentation of the death certificate of the parent within 3 months from the date of death.
What formalities are required?
To apply for financial assistance, a student (graduate student) shall:
STEP 1. Submit a set of documents to the StudOffice in room A-158:
• an application;
• a copy of a student ID;
• a copy of his/her passport;
and also, depending on the category of benefits, the copies of the documents listed below:

STEP 2. Once a semester an application for payment of financial assistance should be submitted to the StudOffice in room А-158.
Amount of payments
The amount of financial assistance is approved once a semester by the Academic Council of the University.
If a student claims to receive financial assistance in several categories at once, then he is awarded the scholarship category with the highest amount of payment.
How regularly is it paid?
Financial assistance allowance is paid once a semester via transfer to the student's (graduate student's) bank card on the days when the scholarship is received. Financial assistance allowance is paid only during the semester in which the application is submitted.
The decision to provide financial assistance is made by the Rector of the University on the basis of a personal application of a student (graduate student). When financial assistance is provided to students (graduate students), the opinion of the student trade union organization and the MIREA Student Union is taken into account.
Additional payments
Students who are orphans and children left without parental care who study full-time with the federal budget funds are paid an annual allowance for the purchase of literature for education and the stationary in the amount of a three-month scholarship.
Postgraduate students receive an annual allowance in the amount of a two-month scholarship for the acquisition of scientific literature.
Postgraduate students studying full-time with the federal budget funds, for the period of their illness lasting more than one month, subject to the availability of an appropriate medical certificate, the term of study is extended and a scholarship is paid within the limits of the scholarship fund. Students and graduate students studying full-time with the federal budget funds, who are on academic leave for medical reasons, are granted and paid monthly compensation payments in the amount of 50 rubles.
Monthly compensation payments are made for the current month within the time frame established for the payment of scholarships to students.
