Infrastructure

Since the beginning of 2018, more than 700 workstations have been purchased for training and production needs. All of them are based on the latest generations of Intel processors with at least 8 GB of RAM installed and with solid state drives permitting twice as much performance rate (or more) than traditional mechanical storage devices. For special purposes (such as 3D modeling and CAE/CAD systems) over 160 computers with improved characteristics have been installed. In the first half of 2019, more than 700 workstations and 65 computers were delivered with improved characteristics.

The Institute has five laboratories and one training center.
AltEl Information Security Academy
On the Institute’s premises, a 20-seat training room is functioning for students to have hands-on practice and for information security specialists to undergo advanced training by working on Altel products.
Samsung IoT Laboratory
Jointly with Samsung Corporation, a laboratory has been opened on the Institute’s premises which allows students to explore advanced information technologies in the field of the Internet of Things. The laboratory has 15 equipment sets installed. Video about the laboratory here.

Computer Hardware Department Laboratory
The laboratory is equipped with 30 sets of seventh-generation debugging boards and general-purpose laboratory benches.
Multimedia Laboratory
The Institute has a specialized training and research multimedia laboratory. Its equipment includes, among others, modern virtual and augmented reality devices, i.e. Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Epson BT-300, and Microsoft HoloLens. Video about the lab here.

Prototyping Laboratory
The laboratory is equipped with upscale state-of-the-art equipment to prototype Internet of Things devices, along with remote monitoring, control and management systems.

Motion Capture Laboratory
This is a complete motion capture studio with professional Vicon equipment used in making the most sophisticated modern movies and high budget AAA-class video games. Video about the lab here.

Digital Design and Modeling Laboratory
Here one can engage in a most high-potential field of studies, digital twin making. In addition, the laboratory can be used to learn programming, computer graphics, business process simulation and much more.
