History of the Institute

The history of the Institute of Radio Engineering and Telecommunication Systems is over 70 years. The department was created in the post-war years as part of the All-Union Correspondence Power Engineering Institute (AUCPEI). In 1967, AUCPEI was transformed into the Moscow Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation (MIREA). The newly created institute also included the radio engineering department which was part of AUCPEI. In 2014, the department grew into the Institute of Radio Engineering and Telecommunication Systems.

The Department of Design and Production of Radioelectronic Equipment was awarded the GOLDEN DEPARTMENT OF RUSSIA diploma for services in the development of domestic education.

RADIOINFOKOM Conference

Since 2013, IRETS, with the support of the Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research has been holding the RADIOINFOKOM International Scientific and Practical Conferences. The conference is included in the list of priority industry conferences of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and is held with the participation of the leading Russian and foreign universities, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and enterprises of the military-industrial complex.

The Quality Assurance and Certification of Electronic Equipment Master's program within the training program on Design and Technology of Electronic Equipment has successfully passed the professional and public accreditation of the Association for Engineering Education of Russia.

In December 2018, IRETS and Eremex LLC, the domestic developer of computer-aided design (CAD) of printed circuit boards, entered into a cooperation agreement. Within the framework of the agreement, IRETS introduced into its educational process the Delta Design domestic CAD of printed circuit boards for the training of highly qualified personnel of all directions and specialties at IRETS meeting the requirements of modern engineering and production. This is an integral part of the import substitution program implementation.

The institute ranks 2nd among the universities of the Electronics Central Research Institute by the number of partner organizations where students do all types of internships and often find the jobs they search for. Among them, there are the major enterprises of the industry, specifically: JSC Vega Radio Engineering Concern, JSC Kometa Corporation of Special Purpose Space Systems, Federal State Unitary Enterprise - Central Research Radio Engineering Institute named after Academician A.I. Berg, and others.
