Centre for Additive Polymer Technologies

The Centre for Additive Polymer Technologies is a Megalaboratory that operates on the basis of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Plastics and Polymer Composites Processing at the Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies.

The Centre has established a full cycle of research of initial components, calculation of structure parameters and prediction of properties of final products, production of polymer composite materials and filaments from them, including high-temperature PEEK class, used for FDM- and FGF-printing of products with complex configuration.

For training students, a classroom with 20 workstations is equipped for designing and producing products using 3D printing using the FDM method:

  • 10 desktop 3D printers from TotalZ Ltd.
  • 10 state-of-the-art computers for product modelling and 3D printing process
  • Software for product modelling and 3D printing

The centre is equipped with a high-temperature industrial 3D printer Total Z AnyForm 450-PRO (2X) (VAC) (HOT+) (FGF) (VIDEOLAN), which is used for manufacturing high-precision prototypes of products from high-temperature superconstructive thermoplastics and polymer composites based on them by 3D FDM-printing using calibrated filament and high-volume products directly from granulated superconstructive thermoplastics and polymer composites by 3D FGF-printing.
