    The Department for work with foreign students deals with a wide range of issues and objectives relating to the stay of foreign nationals in the Russian Federation, interacts with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on migration, registration, and visa regime.

    The key objectives of the Department are:
    • to issue invitations to foreign citizens for obtaining visas in the host country and the subsequent entry into the Russian Federation;
    • to register international students on migration;
    • to issue multiple-entry visas for international students, providing visa support to accompanying family members;
    • to monitor compliance with the rules of stay of foreign nationals in the territory of the Russian Federation;
    • to register and store personal data of international students;
    • to monitor the validity of visas, registrations and medical insurance of foreign students;
    • to participate in the admission procedure of foreign applicants;
    • to monitor the amendments in the migration laws of the Russian Federation informing students about the changes introduced;
    • to prepare information materials for foreign applicants, full-time students and students of the Pre-university Training Department on the rules of stay in the Russian Federation;
    • to cooperate with international departments of Russian universities on respective issues;
    • to interact with consulates and embassies of foreign states whose nationals are studying at the University.
