10.12.2025

From November 24 to 28, a large-scale international festival “Getting to Know Russia” was successfully held at RTU MIREA’s main campus on Prospekt Vernadskogo, 78. Over five days, students were immersed in the richness of Russia’s cultural traditions, making it a vibrant event in university life.

The festival kicked off on November 24 with a formal opening in the main lobby. Right after the ceremony, guests enjoyed a traditional Russian tea reception with classic treats, explored large-scale projects at the MIREA Student Union’s exhibition, and in the evening attended a meeting with a speaker from the Senezh Management Workshop and watched the fairy-tale film based on Alexander Pushkin’s “The Tale of Tsar Saltan.”

Each day of the festival revealed new facets of Russia to participants through interactive formats. Students not only observed but actively engaged in the process.

Highlights included:

·       On November 25, at the “Dances of the Peoples of Russia” master class, participants learned movements from folk dances;

·       November 26 was dedicated to folk crafts. At master classes, students learned various traditional folk craft techniques to make their own keepsakes;

·       On November 27, participants competed in knowledge of geography, history, and culture in the international “Studying Russia” quiz.

The festival concluded on November 28 with a colorful gala concert in the Small Concert Hall. The university’s performing arts clubs presented a bright show blending modernity with folk motifs.

Throughout the entire project, a photo exhibition of our country’s landmarks “Getting to Know Russia” was displayed in the Building A lobby .

The goal of the festival was to help foreign students adapt in Russia, immerse in its traditional culture as well as spiritual and moral values. The event made it possible not just to describe Russia’s multifaceted traditions to students, but also to let them experience those traditions through dance, crafts, music, conversation, and shared student life.
