The 5th Congress of Young Scientists kicked off on November 26 in Sirius, reaffirming its role as a premier national platform for dialogue among young researchers, government officials, and industry experts. Over three days, roundtables, discussions, panel sessions, and expert meetings shaped key directions for Russian science development.
RTU MIREA sent a delegation of 28, one of the largest at the event, who brought top scientific projects to showcase the university’s research expertise and technological innovations.
“The university is represented by a uniquely diverse delegation of young researchers, from undergraduate and graduate students to faculty mentors and grant directors, actively engaging across venues,” said Oleg Karimov, head of the RTU MIREA Student Research Programs Directorate.
A highlight was the university team’s performance in the RTC Cup contest finals, featuring top national engineering teams presenting intelligent systems, autonomous robots, and industry-focused solutions. RTU MIREA Student Research Society (SRO) reps joined a Central Federal District SRO and YSC (Young Scientists’ Councils) meeting with Alina Pavlova, a key member of the Presidential Coordinating Council on Youth Affairs in Science and Education, and attended BRICS forum events on socio-humanitarian research.
Rosatom community students attended a strategic session on youth science development and heard a lecture from Rosatom CEO Aleksei Likhachev.
Congress participation opens doors for professional networking, experience sharing, and presentation of research results, sparking new initiatives that RTU MIREA will develop over the coming year.
