RTU MIREA hosted the opening of the International Scientific and Technical Conference “Optical Technologies, Materials and Systems” (Optotech-2025).
On December 8 and 9, plenary sessions of Optotech-2025 took place at the RTU MIREA Institute of Advanced Technologies and Industrial Programming (IPTIP). This year’s conference, the tenth, brought together scientists, graduate students, master’s and bachelor’s degree students, along with specialists from Russian and foreign universities, organizations, and companies conducting research in optics and advanced materials.
The December 8 plenary was opened at the campus on Prospekt Vernadskogo, 78 by the head of the scientific committee, President of RTU MIREA, RAS Academician A.S. Sigov. He noted the importance of the conference, which, starting from 2017, has fostered productive dialogue among researchers, industry experts, and students.
The December 9 plenary opened at the campus on Stromynka Street, 20 with an introductory address by the conference founder and organizing committee chair, V.S. Kondratenko. Participants were greeted by IPTIP Director P.Yu. Pushkin, who emphasized the importance of attendance by both top experts and students (undergraduate and graduate) for exchanges of experience and advancement of scientific knowledge. A highlight was a series of video greetings from foreign members of the conference’s scientific committee: head of the regional branch of the International Archimedes Club Mirko Mitić (Republic of Serbia), director of the LEMT BelOMO scientific and technological center, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus A.P. Shkadarevich (Dr. Phys.-Math. Sci., Republic of Belarus), and President of Nanoplus Technology Corp., Lu Hung Tu (Ph.D., Taiwan).
In his report at the plenary, NOC director V.F. Matyukhin, Dr. Tech. Sci., spoke about the development of power adaptive photonics technologies in the interests of the Russian Federation’s technological sovereignty and security. Professor A.N. Yurasov made a presentation on the importance of size effect studies in nanostructures, and doctorate seeker D.A. Burdin spoke on the prospects of the magnetoelectric effect in nanomaterials. Associate Professor S.D. Lavrov presented research on the capabilities of two-dimensional semiconductor materials in optical sensing, and Associate Professor A.S. Zuyev — on the prospects of quantum communications and computing.
At the plenary session chaired by V.S. Kondratenko, Dr. Tech. Sci., research results were presented from a whole group of RTU MIREA scientists on advanced technologies for cutting single crystals, along with a report by S.G. Nikiforov from OOO Sila Sveta Laboratory dedicated to the important topic of LED service life in industrial conditions.
